What's the difference between on-grid, off-grid and hybrid solar systems?+
On-grid systems connect to the utility grid and use net metering to offset your bill, with no battery — the lowest-cost option for daytime-heavy usage. Off-grid systems run entirely on battery storage, independent of the grid, suited to areas with unreliable or no grid connection. Hybrid systems combine both — grid-tied with battery backup — so you get bill savings during the day and power during outages.
Does Mapa Renewx handle subsidy and net-metering paperwork?+
Yes. We prepare and file the net-metering and subsidy applications with your DISCOM on your behalf as part of the installation process, so you don't have to manage that paperwork yourself.
Do I need a battery for a rooftop solar system?+
Not necessarily. A battery is only required for off-grid or hybrid systems. If your area has reliable grid power and you mainly want to cut your electricity bill, an on-grid system without a battery is usually the more cost-effective choice.
